God's Army hails from Detroit, Michigan - the birthplace of some of the most cutting edge Gospel Families in the industry such as The Winans, Fred Hammond & R.F.C., Commissioned, The Clark Sisters, J. Moss, Deitrick & Damita Haddon and others. God's Army is comprised of 6 ministers: (Founder) Pastor Liyongo Tolin, Timashion Jones, Taivia Jones, Michael Bowdre, Keedrick Garner, and Rahsaan Ivory, who have their street credentials as well. They use cutting edge lyrics and off the chart musical compositions to confront some of society’s most controversial issues by bringing a biblical stance to the table.

Their musical style embraces Hip Hop, R & B, Jazz, Heavy Metal, Reggae and Funk! By combining these various musical styles, they have created their own unique sound most commonly referred to as R & G (Rhythm and Gospel). During their travels they have wowed audiences with their high powered performances filled with singing, rapping, dancing and drama presentations. These travels have taken them around the country and abroad. They have shared the stage with an array of gospel talents such as Kirk Franklin, Da Truth, Canton Jones, Walter Hawkins, Dottie People, the Clark Sisters and more. In 2007 they recieved a Holy Hip Hop Award and in 2008 received the Detroit Music Award for Best Gospel Group. Now working with Motor City Praise Records, a Billboard charting and Gospel Stellar Award winning label, God's Army is fast becoming one of the most sought after and listened to groups in the industry.

Currently with their 10 city tour and new nationally released hit single “Praize Your Way” climbing the charts, along with their nationally released book “Christian Rap, Today’s Tool For Evangelism/6:12 The Commentary”, the commentary for the CD 6:12. God’s Army is taking the country by storm like no other Rap/Hip Hop group in history. Rendering unprecedented interactive workshops in every city they tour; they use their book to teach Christian workshops. These workshops have the youth (as well as the adults) excited and enthusiastically engaged in Christian learning with an applied application. Realizing their younger audiences consider them to be role models, God’s Army creates musical arrangements and writes books they know will encourage hearts and inspire the minds of young people as well as adults of all ages.
