Music transcends culture, age, language itself. The 612 experience is a culmination of over 10 years in ministry for God’s Army. When I started this journey as a solo artist, I never dreamed a union could become as powerful as the 6 members of God’s Army. I am the humble yet proud to say I am a founder and THE elder statesmen of GA. This journey has been so enriching. I started as a minister in a musical ministry. I have served as youth minister of Covenant Foursquare Royal Oak since 1999. In 2004, the title and responsibility of associate pastor was added. Additionally, serve the Detroit community professionally as a physical therapist.
God’s Army has allowed me to travel the world ministering God’s word in a unique form. It has helped me develop a unique presentation of God’s word when ministering from the pulpit, as I utilize music, dance, and other areas of the performing arts to bring LIFE to God’s people. I have been married for 13 years. The fruit of my marriage has produced three children, two of which have special appearances on the song “Pray” on the 612 project.
I must admit that my life can be quite hectic serving as husband, father, physical therapist, pastor, mentor, and friend. But God has not placed any burden too great for me to handle, I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me; phillipians 4:13. Pastor Mike Nelson of New Hope recently gave me a prophetic and encouraging word. Paraphrasing, “God has called you forth as an example of a new prototype of a Christian.” Initially that was a frightening revelation. The fear was always being scrutinized or under the microscope. He also told me that I was too humble and as God’s new prototype I should welcome the new attention. Stay humble, but don’t run away from the limelight was his echoing words. I am understanding this prophetic word more daily. It is not an easy thing being a Christian. It wasn’t easy being Jesus either. James 1:12,my favorite verse, reads.. “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” As long as this verse is etched in my heart, I believe I’ll be OK!
