2005 Dove Award Nominees God’s Army will be interviewed by Strong Inspirations host Dr. Deborah Smith Pollard on Sunday August 26, 2007.
Detroit, Michigan, August 23, 2007--2005 Dove Award Nominees God’s Army will be interviewed by FM 98 WJLB Strong Inspirations host Dr. Deborah Smith Pollard on Sunday August 26, 2007. The recording artists are slotted for a discussion on their new 6:12 project and upcoming release party. The interview will be at 9:00 AM.
God’s Army is a Christian rap recording group with the mission of breaking down all denominational barriers, to unite all those within the Body of Christ, while nurturing and developing God’s gifts and preparing soldiers/warriors for His Army. The group is moreover a grassroots organization commonly spotted at church youth conferences to prisons and rehabilitation centers to local TV and radio programs. They can be found on any given day evangelizing, teaching, mentoring, or performing.
The 6:12 project includes a 19 track music CD and book. The 6:12 project as a whole aims through God inspired lyrics to urge the church and non believers to awake and understand the great deception lurking and upon us. The book is a commentary of the 6:12 album song lyrics. The objective is to dissect the lyrics of the songs and engage the reader in a scriptural discussion on various subject matters. The book opens the possibility for dialogue on pertinent topics such as love, obedience, dying to the flesh, and separation of church and state.
The Project release party will be hosted at Detroit’s Upper Room Entertainment Complex on Saturday September 1, 2007. The doors will open at 6:12 with NO COVER CHARGE, and welcoming all age groups from infant carriers to walkers. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Ephesians 6:12 {KJV}
Dear Pastors, Youth Pastors, Bible Study Teachers and Friends:
We greet you in the Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We are writing with great joy and excitement about the new thing that God is doing in the music ministry of God’s Army. We trust that you, our Brothers and Sisters in Christ, will join us in celebrating this move of God, as He uses us to reach an entire generation of young people. Our prayer is that we reach them in a way that is exciting and innovative, yet truly effective.
We refuse to sit still, while we lose our youth to worldly things. To that end, we are blessed to introduce to you a truly creative approach to youth ministry. Our latest project is a newly-released CD, entitled “6:12,” along with our accompanying book, “Christian Rap: Today’s Tool for Evangelism 6:12 The Commentary.” This book and CD is an excellent teaching tool that will be utilized to strengthen young people in their knowledge of God and their relationship with Him. Diligent study and inspiration of the Holy Spirit has enabled us to break down each song, share and explain the lyrics, and then correlate the lyrics to the very scriptures in the Bible that inspired us. Each and every song is based on the holy Word of God. The music will capture their attention, and the Word of God will capture their heart. It will encourage young people to want to read God’s Word, in addition to listen to music with a gospel message, rather than a worldly one.
The book is also designed for use as a 15-week course, with each song being studied for one week (Ride and Die two week study). It is perfect for conducting bible study with teens, who might otherwise not be interested in the bible. It might ordinarily take effort to encourage some youth to read a book, however, if they are reading a book that correlates to a song, we will have not only planted a seed, but the seed is also being watered at the same time.
We want parents, children, churches, youth groups and everyone else to pick up this book and CD, and come together to enjoy and study God’s Word. The music will reach the youth, in particular, and the lyrics will reach the parents, teachers and adult leaders. Then, we can begin to create the atmosphere of family – as God, our Father, intended it to be.

If you are content on being a “lukie,” (lukewarm) you might want to let this cup pass. But for those desiring to drink of the cup and do the will of the Father, we encourage you to enlist expeditiously, and enter into 6:12 - the latest mission of God’s Army. This project, inspired by Ephesians 6:12, is a serious wake-up call to lost souls and to those devoid of the truth found in Jesus Christ. A sermon to some, but to the musical connoisseur; we offer a refreshing entrée of the Word, tastefully seasoned with content and accentuated by flavorful beats, ensuring that faith indeed comes by hearing. For those desiring a sweet finishing touch, we present the culmination of Rap and the Bread of Life.
God’s Army promises that this 19-track project will stay true to their reputation of biblically based lyrics and relevant content, without sacrificing the musical magnetism of banging beats and strong vocals. While this isn’t COSTCO, they are offering you an opportunity to “sample,” and look inside to see what the GA crew has been cooking up for their audience. The pièce de résistance is the 280 page book entitled, “Christian Rap: Today's Tool for Evangelism, 6:12 The Commentary.” The commentary dissects the lyrics of the songs and engages the reader in a discussion based on scripture on various subject matters. It’s not very often that artists allow you to enter into their minds, becoming transparent and sharing their personal engagement with God’s Word. This spawns into rhythmic phrases that will leave you reflective, yet moved to action. The book opens the possibility for dialogue on pertinent topics such as love, obedience, dying to the flesh, serving a great God and commitment to Christ. In essence, the Commentary provides the reader with real answers for real life.
Due to be released on September 1st, God’s Army wants you to keep your ear to the pavement and your eyes open because people are talking and the streets are watching. For those with an ear to hear what the Lord is saying to God’s Army, and for an excerpt from the book, “Christian Rap: Today's Tool for Evangelism, 612 The Commentary.” check us out at www.godsarmy612.com

Identity Movement
The I.D. Movement is a faith based Youth/Young adult initiative established to cultivate lifestyles of purpose and purity. Our aim is to capture youth before life changing mistakes are made.
I.D. is a positive movement that sets out to INFORM concerning issues that dominate youth culture as well as IMPACT positive change in the hearts of youth by INFLUENCING the minds, hearts and attitudes to incorporate purpose and IMPROVE their lives and the lives of those around them before they make the mistakes they would live to regret.
Through the Identity Tour, our Hip-Hop Sermons, we address purpose by incorporating music, dance and drama to relay the value of a person.
Optional-(Statistics: About half of our youth age 15-19 report to being sexually active and about 80% of girls and 60% of boys who have been sexually active say that they wish they would have waited to have sex. The sad truth is that more than three-quarters of youth say that their decisions concerning sex would be different if someone would have only openly talked to them about sex.)
Through our Forums we bring a Godly perspective to the areas of Sex, Relationships, and the Media influence on our social and sexual behavior. Topics such as STD's, visual imagery (i.e. sexual imprints in movies, ads, music videos...), and pick-up lines are discussed and deciphered to enlighten concerning the messages being presented. With the assistance of qualified panelists and speakers from each field of research (i.e. the medical field, music/television industry and relationship counselors) youth are provided the atmosphere to comfortably address various questions they may have and receive valid practical and spiritual answers to apply in their decision making. These events are hosted and arranged by fellow youth and youth ministers to effectively capture the flavor of the youth as well as blend it with the solutions they need.
